MONSTEROUS FAN ENTHUSIASM PROPELS ADDITION OF SECOND MONSTER JAM® DATE AT U.S. BANK STADIUM

Minneapolis (Oct. 10, 2016) – Back in July when Feld Entertainment® announced the return of Monster Jam® to Minneapolis after a three-year hiatus --- this time in the new U.S. Bank Stadium on December 10 --- fans scooped up tickets in record numbers. In response to the enthusiasm, Feld Entertainment is thrilled to announce a second Monster Jam on Sunday, Dec. 11 with a Pit Party from noon - 2 p.m. and the show at 3:30 p.m. Tickets for the added show will go on sale Tuesday, Oct. 11 at 10 a.m.

Monster Jam’s first event in the Metrodome was in 1989. Since then, the Dome has hosted 41 Monster Jam events to the entertainment of millions. Now, it’s U.S. Bank Stadium’s turn to be invaded by the giant mechanical-marvels and the largest recreational vehicles in the world. Over 300 dump trucks are expected to unload 7,500 tons of dirt onto the U.S. Bank Stadium field in preparation for the competition.

Approximately 12 feet tall and about 12 feet wide, Monster Jam trucks are custom-designed machines that sit atop 66-inch-tall tires and weigh a minimum of 10,000 pounds. Built for short, high-powered bursts of speed, Monster Jam trucks generate 1,500 to 2,000 horsepower and are capable of speeds of up to 100 miles per hour. Monster Jam trucks can fly up to125 to 130 feet (a distance greater than 14 cars side by side) and up to 35 feet in the air.
