U.S. Bank Stadium Nominated for 2016 Pollstar Award for Best New Major Concert Venue

Minneapolis, MN (November 11, 2016) – Pollstar, a world-wide concert industry magazine, announced nominations for the 2016 Pollstar Awards on Friday. U.S. Bank Stadium was included in the nominations for the category of Best New Major Concert Venue. Past winners of Pollstar’s newcomer award include the Forum (2014 – Inglewood, CA), Barclays Center (2012 – Brooklyn, NY), O2 Arena (2007 – London, UK) and the Staples Center (1999 – Los Angeles, CA). U.S. Bank Stadium is one of six venues nominated this year for the Best New Major Concert Venue award.

Pollstar Award nominations are chosen by a small, exclusive group of industry professionals in several categories. Venue nominations are accepted in the areas of Arena of the Year, Best Major Outdoor Concert Venue, Best New Major Concert Venue, Facility Executive of the Year, International Venue of the Year, Best Small Outdoor Venue, Nightclub of the Year, and Theater of the Year. This year’s award ceremony will take place on February 2, 2017 at Pollstar Live! Conference in Los Angeles, California.

This prestigious industry award nomination comes after hosting a grand opening concert weekend featuring Luke Bryan’s Kill the Lights Tour and one of Metallica’s only 2016 dates in the United States. U.S. Bank Stadium recently announced Coldplay’s A Head Full of Dreams Tour, set for August 12, 2017 and has more concert announcements on the horizon for the coming year.
